Oral health, though its importance is often minimized and overlooked, is the key in maintaining whole body health, a concept that’s more likely to be discussed by holistic dentists than conventional dentists. While many of us fear going to the dentist, what we don’t realize is that that fear isn’t necessarily illogical, as conventional dental practices incorporate a multitude of harmful, toxic substances that can definitely have a lasting impact on your health.
While the development of new, innovative dental treatments include much safer and less toxic substances and procedures, many conventional dentists are rooted in their ways and refuse to think or practice outside the box, which means patients aren’t getting the care they deserve.
A good dentist is constantly being trained on the latest breakthroughs in dentistry, such as the benefits of acupuncture to treat pain, improve the healing process and to jumpstart detoxification.
Dr. Zielinski: why essential oils can greatly improve your oral health
Though used for thousands of years by ancient civilizations, essential oils have many benefits, including their ability to improve oral health.
Dr. Eric Zielinski, a trained natural health care provider, incorporates natural oils in his every day practice and often speaks publically about their benefits, particularly in regard to oral health.
This year, Dr. Zielinski will be presenting his knowledge on the link between essential oils and optimal oral health at the Holistic Oral Health Summit, which begins on September 28 and lasts through October 5.
100% organic essential oil sets now available for your home and personal care, including Rosemary, Oregano, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Clary Sage and more, all 100% organic and laboratory tested for safety. A multitude of uses, from stress reduction to topical first aid. See the complete listing here, and help support this news site.
Registration is completely FREE and allows access to online video presentations by 34 of the world’s top experts on how oral health affects overall health.
A variety of diverse and interesting topics will be featured at the summit, including the way illnesses such as heart disease, autoimmune disorders and even cancer are closely tied to oral health.
One thing that isn’t common knowledge, but most certainly should be, is that the cornerstone of health starts in the mouth, says Dr. Zielinski, who is also a health educator, motivational speaker and author.
“Poor oral health has actually been clinically linked to cardiovascular disease, poor glycemic control in diabetics, low birth weight, preterm babies, and a number of other serious health conditions,” Dr. Zielinski says.
“Oral infections have been recognized as a main problem for patients suffering from cancer, HIV, and even pneumonia. And when you look at the data, even the CDC has come out in 2010 and stating that one in two Americans over 30 years old, has periodontal disease.”
“The real issue is that the conventional medical approach is not working. And a large number of clinical trials have established that topical antimicrobial agents like chlorhexidine, which is an antiseptic antibacterial mouthwash, or triclosan, which is an antimicrobial agent that’s been registered as a pesticide since the 1960s, that these are the current approach to helping patients deal with gingivitis and dental plaque,” explains Dr. Zielinski.
“So basically, the medical and the pharmaceutical industry are poisoning our people because of the chemicals that they’re putting in our oral mouthwash. It’s never even a thought to use essential oils or other natural ways.”
To illustrate the real dangers of mainstream oral rinses, Dr. Zielinski cites a 2014 article from Medical Daily titled, “Antiseptic Mouthwash Raises Heart Attack Risks and Blood Pressure Because Chlorhexidine Kills off Good Bacteria that Helps Blood Vessels Relax.”
