Dr. Thomas Baldwin has been a leading biological dentists for over 30 years. He holds degrees in Dentistry, Psychology and Nutrition and is accredited by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, (IAOMT) for the proper removal of mercury amalgams from the mouth.
He specializes in all phases of biological dentistry and has a national reputation in holistic biocompatible periodontal therapy, a non-surgical approach for the treatment of periodontal (gum) disease. Research has shown that gum disease is a leading cause of heart disease and may contribute to many other medical problems.
Dr. Baldwin will be presenting at this year’s free Holistic Oral Health Summit. His topic, “Optimal Nutrition for a Healthy Body,” will cover these points:
The Holistic Oral Health Summit, starting September 28 and lasting through October 5, will feature 34 of the world’s leading experts on the important link between oral health and whole body health. Oral health is directly correlated with illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and more. Sign up for FREE today and get access to the entire archive, where you can view the presentations at your convenience.
In his Summit video, Dr. Baldwin stresses the seriousness of gum disease: “The studies are overwhelming at this point. We know that if someone comes into the dental office, is diagnosed with a periodontal infection, their general health – in fact, their very life – is at risk.”
In discussing underlying causes, he observes that “we are stuck on treating the signs and symptoms of disease and not on treating the causes of disease.” And new ideas, he notes, are slow to take hold. “I’ve have heard – many times within the medical profession – that you could have a new idea come in and it could take 50 years for it to take hold within the profession itself.”
Regarding optimal nutrition for a healthy body, he uses an analogy to illustrate: “The body is so much more of a highly functioning machine than any of those high performance cars. And, if taken care of well, it can heal itself – cars don’t do that.”
Proper nutrition, he says, “can actually change the gene expression. And, what that will do is increase our lifespan but, more importantly, you’ll be more productive and enjoy life more.”
