Tips to overcome heartburn, naturally

Everyone has suffered from that uncomfortable, and even painful sensation of heartburn or gas. Sometimes, you may even know it’s coming just by looking at the meal you’re about to eat. But, did you know that you don’t need to suffer or pop antacids like candy in order to avoid heartburn? Well, it’s true. Here are four tips to beat heartburn before it starts:
- Cut out gluten and dairy: Many people suffer from heartburn and other digestive ails without ever considering it may be food they’re eating that’s the problem. Lots of people are sensitive to dairy and gluten, but because they aren’t outright allergic, the problem goes unnoticed. They’ve also been linked to the onset of GERD.
- Apple cider vinegar: Taking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before meals can help control stomach acidity.
- Don’t drink fluids around meal times: It dilutes your digestive enzymes, making it harder to digest food.
- Digestive enzymes: Lactase pills are often used for lactose intolerance, but there are other enzymes available that may help aid your digestion.
It’s important to note that if you are currently taking prescription heartburn drugs, you should always speak with a doctor first before weaning off your drugs and trying any home remedies.
