The connection between mind and body has been recognized for years. Yoga is based on this concept because it uses movement and breathing exercises to promote health. A study published in the Journal of Ayuverda and Integrative Medicine supported this theory.
Researchers wanted to find out if yoga therapy stimulates trafficking of bone marrow stem cells to the blood surrounding it. This, can, in turn, help reduce inflammation, fight apoptosis, revive lost cells, and postpone the aging process.

What is clear to the researchers is that yoga therapy can enhance stem cell trafficking from bone marrow to peripheral blood; thus, making it possible for the tissues to repair and regenerate.
