For nearly 2,000 years, traditional Chinese healers have prescribed Guang-Pheretima as a remedy for various inflammatory-related disorders. The decoction, derived from the earthworm, has been documented in many ancient texts to be an effective treatment for asthma, cough, and fever. To further substantiate this claim, Chinese researchers investigated the inhibitory effects and the underlying mechanism of Guang-Pheretima in treating inflamed cells. The peer-reviewed study was published in BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
These results suggest that Guang-Pheretima may be used to treat various inflammatory diseases.
