CDC cites its OWN pharma-influenced studies to “prove” thimerosal is safe and not harmful to kids

Talk about a conflict of interest! The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has proudly announced that “the evidence is clear: Thimerosal is not a toxin in vaccines, but merely a preservative, preventing contamination, that has been used in vaccines for decades.” This conclusion, they note, was reached based on studies “conducted by CDC or with CDC’s involvement.”

In other words, the CDC has decided, based not on independent, peer-reviewed studies, but on their own biased research, that thimerosal – a mercury-containing organic compound added to vaccines as a preservative – is perfectly safe. The only “evidence” they provide is their own guarantee.

Yet, their conclusion flies in the face of studies by respected scientists. In fact, so much evidence exists to warn of the dangers of thimerosal in vaccines that more and more countries have banned its use in vaccines.

Russia banned this toxic ingredient over two decades ago, with Austria, Denmark, Great Britain, Japan and all the Scandinavian countries making the same decision in subsequent years.

And yet the agency responsible for setting the U.S. mandated vaccine schedule – the CDC – stubbornly refuses to acknowledge the dangers of thimerosal and continues to allow its use in the vaccines given to American children. CDC studies actually confirm link between thimerosal and serious health issues

Interestingly, despite concluding that thimerosal is “not a toxin,” a closer look at the summary’s fine print confirms that the CDC scientists did confirm a dangerous link between thimerosal and neurodevelopmental problems. The summary states regarding a study published in the respected New England Journal of Medicine:

The power of the elements: Discover Colloidal Silver Mouthwash with quality, natural ingredients like Sangre de Drago sap, black walnut hulls, menthol crystals and more. Zero artificial sweeteners, colors or alcohol. Learn more at the Health Ranger Store and help support this news site.

This study measured neurodevelopmental disorders in children. The study found only a few statistically significant associations between exposure from thimerosal and neuropsychological functioning. [Emphasis added]

So, not “no” associations, but “significant” associations between thimerosal exposure and problems with neuropsychological functioning.

The Columbia University Department of Psychology provides more information about testing this type of functioning in children:

A neuropsychological evaluation, also called neuropsychological testing, is an in-depth assessment of skills and abilities linked to brain function. The evaluation measures such areas as attention, problem solving, memory, language, I.Q., visual-spatial skills, academic skills, and social-emotional functioning. [Emphasis added]

So, the CDC admits that a study published in a highly respected journal proves that there are “significant associations” between exposure to the thimerosal in vaccines and the development of very serious problems involving the most basic skills needed by children, but chooses to ignore that evidence?

Further in the science summary, the CDC states regarding a study published in the journal Pediatrics:

This study looked for possible links between thimerosal-containing vaccines and a variety of health problems. CDC and research partners found statistically significant associations between thimerosal and language delays and tics. However, the associations were weak and were not consistent between study populations. [Emphasis added]

So, again, the CDC admits to “significant associations” between thimerosal and language problems. But then waters the facts down by saying the associations were weak (does significant mean weak?) and then chooses to ignore the evidence.

In summary: Many leading first world countries have chosen to ban thimerosal because of the scientific evidence that it is not a safe vaccine ingredient. Even the CDC admits to “significant associations” between thimerosal and serious neuropsychological and language problems. Does knowledge of these two facts lead you to agree with the CDC’s conclusion that thimerosal is “not a toxin in vaccines, but merely a preservative, preventing contamination?”
